Breakthroughs in medication adherence are being recognized in the utilization of texting medication reminders on mobile and SmartPhones.      The New York Times article Texting For Better Health on Nov. 5, 2009  reported where texting medication reminders for young people with organ transplants had successfully achieved an improvement in their medication adherence and resulted in improved results and outcomes.   The good news is that the evolution of SmartPhone health care apps and their acceptance across multiple platforms will enable populations that just a year ago were limited by the accessibility and affordability of the SmartPhone technology.
